Falla — Olympic champion in ski sprint
The skier brings Norway third gold medal in Sochi.
In the individual freestyle sprint, no skier was equal to Maiken Caspersen Falla. Norwegian was the first in qualifying round. Then she won the quarterfinal and semi-final races. In the final race, Falla was much faster than her competitors. She won with an ample margin. Though photo-finish was needed in the end, to determine the silver medallist. In the end, the second place went to Ingvild Flugstad Østberg, another Norwegian. The third place was awarded to Vasna Fabjan from Slovenia.
Ukrainians didn’t get through the qualifying round. Marina Antsibor was 34th, Catherine Serdiuk — 45th and Marina Lisogor — 58th.
