European Union has no plans to impose sanctions on Ukraine
The EU discussed the situation in Ukraine; at this stage, Brussels has no plans for any action, in particular, the sanctions, but promises to act “quickly” if the situation deteriorates.
This is the essence of EU Council conclusions on Ukraine regarding the issue of imposing sanctions, said Lithuania Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius in an interview with http://www.interfax.ru/ news agency.
“We agreed that the EU will react if the situation aggravates. This means that we do not plan to do something now, but the EU will be fast,” said the diplomat.
In this regard, he noted that the only way out is the dialog, which “EU encourages”.
On February 6, the European Parliament approved a resolution on Ukraine, which urged the EU to start preparing personal sanctions against Ukrainian officials.
