Athletes to support on February 10
Ukrainians will try to win second Olympic medal in biathlon and will begin the competition in luge.
The rounds in ladies’ luge will begin at 4:45 p.m. Two Ukrainian athletes will compete in this type of the Olympic program. They are 20-year-old Elena Shkhumova and 19-year-old Elena Stetskiv. This Olympics is a debut one for them. Our girls have no claims on the medals.
The biathlon pursuit for the distance 12.5 km will start at 5:00 p.m. 4 Ukrainian athletes will participate in it. But, to tell the truth, they do not have many chances of success. Ukrainians are considerably lagging behind after the sprint. Andrei Derizemlya will start the first among them. He will leave for the distance the 22nd lagging 56 seconds behind the leader — the Norwegian Ole Einar Bjørndalen. The rest are lagging behind even more: Andrey Pryima — 1 minute 24 seconds, Sergey Semenov — 1:37, Sergey Sednev — 1:43.
All in all 5 sets of medals will be awarded today in Sochi. Except the biathlon we will see the competition in Alpine skiing, in short-track among men for the distance 1,500 m, men’s skating for the distance 500 m and in men’s free style moguls.
