The consequences of the accident at Kharkov Southern Train Station: the movement of trains was restored, electric trains do not run
According to the press-service of the Southern Railway Station, today, on February 6, the electric trains and electric trains of high-comfort will not arrive and depart from the station Kharkov-Passenger. The itineraries of the trains were changed due to technical reasons in connection with yesterday’s accident.
Namely electric trains of Zolochevsk, Lybotin, Krasnogradsk and Grakovsk directions and the train No.847/848 Kharkov-Vorozhba were redirected to the station Kharkov-Balashovskiy. Electric trains of Zmiev, Lozov and Izym directions and the train No.819/820 Kharkov-Zaporozhe were directed to the station Kharkov-Levada.
The Southern Railway specified that the routes were changed, because in the evening on February 5 at the railway station Kharkov-Passenger the power supply of the devices of railway automatics of the arrows and of traffic lights disappeared and due to this they were transferred to the manual mode of operation. This led to some delays of some passenger trains. Now the special commission investigates the cause of the technical failure of the work of the station. The commission consists of the representatives of supervisory and law enforcement authorities.
Yesterday, on February 5, the electricity supply of the station was turned off due to the problems in the cable electrical network and due to the smoke on the basement floor. Neither passenger trains, nor commuter trains ran. At approximately 8:00 p.m. power supply was switched on in the northern part of the railway station, the left luggage office renewed its work.
