The Ministry of Internal Affairs: the activist of Maidan lied to the mass media about her kidnapping by Berkut
The volunteer of the medical service of Maidan Alexandra Khailik reported to the mass media about her kidnapping by the officers of Berkut on the railway station of the capital in exchange for 500 UAH which she was promised to get as a fee.
According to the MVD, a 19-year-old female reported to the journalists untruthful information about the fact that the officers of Berkut taunted her, took her to the forest and left in the frost.
"Checking up this information, the officers of the MVD identified the personality of a girl. She is a 19-year-old resident of Kiev region. It was stated that on the day of her alleged kidnapping she was not at the railway station of the capital, but was on Euromaidan," the message stated.
The MVD claims that the girl "confessed that she made a false report to the mass media at request of an unknown male by the name Andrey."
"He promised a fee of 500 UAH if the girl told the story, provided by him, for the camera. Then the activist told the story of her kidnapping in the air of the TV channel Hrоmаdske.TV," the message stated.
Herewith, the MVD claims that, having fulfilled the "job", the girl could not get the money; the customer disappeared and did not answer the phone calls.
"The police also found out that the girl was brought to criminal liability for theft twice," the message stated.
