Putin does not want to light the Olympic flame
Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to light the Olympic flame at the opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, to be held in Sochi on February 7.
Putin explained his refusal by saying that the organizers can find a better candidate among athletes representing the winter sports.
“I am not a representative of the winter sports, I'm just an amateur,” quotes Putin the R-Sport news agency.
Putin also denied rumors that the fire may be lit by Alina Kabaeva.
