Kiev police detained armed EuroMaidan protesters (VIDEO)
In Svyatoshyno district of Kiev, police patrol detained two men armed with homemade firearms and a gun with traumatic cartridges, informs PR department of the Interior Ministry.
The detainees said they got the weapons at the Independence Square, where they worked part time for UAH 200 per day.
One of the detainees, 30-year-old Vitali, arrived to Kiev from Poltava region. The man enrolled in one of the units at the Independence Square. His duties included guarding the tent, participation in the mass rallies, etc.
"From one of the companions he received the firearm to shoot at police officers cordoning the Hrushevskoho Street but says he had no time to use the received weapon," says the PR Department at the Ministry of Interior.
Another detainee, 45-year-old man, was also active during the protests. He said that the gun that law enforcers found on him was received from the senior of their Maidan squad.
The seized weapons sent for examination, criminal case has been opened.
