Uzbekistan doubles the fine for EuroMaidan support
Uzbekistan authorities have doubled the fine for supporting EuroMaidan in Kiev. The copy of the court decision in possession of Lenta.ru media source states that initially the activists had to pay a fine of 30 times the minimum wage, now — double of the amount.
The media outlet reminds that on January 27, a few people — journalists, photographers and teachers — submitted to the Ukrainian Embassy in Uzbekistan a statement supporting the protests in Kiev. Uzbek authorities learned about the action from the media and on January 29 arrested all members for organizing unsanctioned rallies.
