Visa regime between the EU and Belarus will be simplified
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Belarus and the European Commission began official negotiations about simplification of visa regime.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Elena Kupchina visited Brussels during the current week, where she held a number of meetings with the European officials. "The central element of the visit of the deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elena Kupchina to Brussels was official start of negotiations between the Republic of Belarus and the European Commission on agreements about simplification of visa procedures and readmission," the message stated.
The next round of negotiations will be held in March in Minsk.
During the meetings of Kupchina with the European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Füle and with the director of the department of Russia, Central Asia, regional cooperation and the OSCE of the European External Action Service Gunnar Wiegand "the prospects of Belarus and European dialog and the practical cooperation between Belarus and the European Union," including participation of Belarus in the Eastern Partnership and technical cooperation were discussed.
