Korolevskaya: low-income families will get increased social payments
Because of increase of the subsistence minimum welfare, payments to the low-income families in Ukraine will be increased by UAH 250 - 500. Natalya Korolevskaya, the Minister of social policy of Ukraine declared today.
«The level of support subsistence minimum for children this year compared to the last one has grown by 10%. Supplement for children from 3 to 13 years has increased up to 250 UAH, for children of 13 - 18 years old - up to 500 UAH», the Minister said.
This change was foreseen in budget of Ukraine for 2014 in January, consequently, further payments will be made in February.
«Therefore, local administration of social protection has to recalculate the granted allowances to low-income families without citizens’ wriiten application, and also to provide additional payment assistance for January of the current year in February,» Korolevskaya said.
According to the Ministry, more than 15 thousand families will get increased social help. Financial aid to poor families by the end of 2013 was about $ 40 billion.
