“Svoboda” party offers to count Sevastopol age from the date unknown
People’s Deputies from the “Svoboda” party offer the Verkhovna Rada to celebrate the 2,435 anniversary of Sevastopol (Tauric Chersonese).
Relevant draft bill has been registered in the parliament on January 29. All deputies of “Freedom” faction are the authors of the bill.
Earlier, “Svoboda” representatives categorically opposed approving the decision on celebration of 230 anniversary of Sevastopol, as founded by Catherine II in 1783.
Just how the Svoboda deputies calculated the age of 2,435 years, remains a mystery — the founding of Chersonesos dates back to 529-528 years BC, that is, 2,542 years ago.
