Ukraine to classify onions, carrots and potatoes as social products

Ukraine plans to include the “borsch set” vegetables to the list of socially important goods so the state can control their price — the State Inspectorate of Price Monitoring plans to submit the proposal to the CM of Ukraine.

Vegetables becoming more expensive in Ukraine, vegetable prices often spiral without any objective reasons, simply because intermediaries want to earn, said the chair of the State Inspectorate Alexander Kiselev at the press conference.

At the same time, Kiselev said that the Inspectorate is yet to decide the maximum margins on the “borsch set” (beets, onions, carrots, cabbage and potatoes).
