Sevastopol residents hold a rally “Fascism will not be tolerated!”
Yesterday Sevastopol’s Nakhimov Square hosted a rally against extremism and escalation of violence under the slogan “Fascism will not be tolerated!”
The peaceful rally that gathered over 5,000 Sevastopol residents was organized by the Party of Regions to unite citizens against extremism and for stability in the region.
The protesters included representatives of local authorities, various political parties, and members of the Veterans Council.
The chair of city administration Vladimir Yatsuba stressed that the authorities control of the situation in the city and called on the citizens to be vigilant: “We appealed to taxi drivers, contacted the carriers, forestry workers. We control [the situation] and we appeal to you as well — where young people appear, particularly dressed, you’ve seen what I mean, they will be noticed immediately”.
“Our strength is in our unity; our strength is in hatred for fascism, transmitted by the blood of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers. Long live to the hero-city of Sevastopol,” said Vasily Parkhomenko, the chair of the Sevastopol branch of Communist Party.
The rally members adopted a resolution strongly condemning the riots in the country and the forceful seizure of power in some regions of Ukraine.
