The Prime Minister of Ukraine resigns to preserve integrity of the country
Nikolai Azarov resigned from the post of Prime Minister, reports Department of Information and Communication of the CM Secretariat.
According to Azarov, the decision to resign is linked to the situation in the country.
“In order to create additional opportunities for social and political compromise, for the sake of a peaceful settlement of the conflict, I took a personal decision to ask the President to accept my resignation from the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine,” - Azarov said. “Today, the most important thing is to preserve the unity and integrity of Ukraine. It is much more important than anyone else's personal plans or ambitions. That's why I made this decision,” noted the PM.
Nikolai Azarov held the PM position from December 2012.
