Yanukovych and opposition decided to return to the Constitution of 2004
In the course of political negotiations, which took place on January 27, both sides discussed joint participation in the Constitutional reform involving cooperation with European institutions, Olena Lukash, the Minister of justice reported.
The imperfection of the norms of the law №2222, as well as the lack of Constitution texts drafting were mentioned, so the opposition proposed a return to the Constitution of 2004. Discussions regarding the technical implementation began. The views of politicians differed. Each of the leaders in its own way described the work on introducing amendments to the Constitution should be done. Two possible types of stroke were considered on: organizing an authorized group for developing the adjustments for the main document of the country, or holding a Nationwide referendum.
Let's remind, today the Head of state Viktor Yanukovych and opposition leaders Vitaly Klitschko, Arseny Yatsenyuk and Oleg Tyagnibok met in the state administration hall to discuss overcoming the political crisis in Ukraine. Negotiations lasted for four hours.
