Interior Ministry detains criminals distributing weapons among EuroMaidan protesters
Members of an organized criminal group who distributed weapons to protesters have been detained. Officials of the Ministry of Interior showed the relevant evidence. One rifle, four pistols, seven firearms and more than eight hundred rounds today were disclosed and seized from a group of people in the center of Kiev by the police officers.
The police have also found four kidnappers of 22-year-old Kiev resident who disappeared in December last year. The kidnappers were demanding a ransom of UAH 2 million.
Currently, under more than a thousand of EuroMaidan protesters are under suspicion of being involved in criminal gangs that organized the clashes on the Hrushevskoho Street.
“These structures have all the signs of criminal extremist gangs. One of such gangs we have recently eliminated," said tonight Stanislav Rogozin, head of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime at the Ministry of Interior.
