Poland speaks about the split of Ukraine
In his speech in Poland’s parliament, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said of the threat of secession of Ukraine, reports “Polish Radio”. On January 25, the PM will talk about the split with Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council.
“This statement is very ambiguous when it comes from a man responsible for this situation. We have no doubt that this critical moment, when the unity of the Ukrainian state is questionable, is a result of the actions of the Administration of President Yanukovych and his behavior," said Tusk.
The Polish Prime Minister confirmed his country’s further support of Ukraine's European choice. But added that the Ukrainians are in for a “long march”.
“Ukraine as a rich and peaceful neighbor - this condition is necessary for Poland to feel the sense of security. Ukraine being tore by infighting, internally divided, sooner or later will mean quite a serious problem for the whole region, not only for Ukrainians," said Tusk.
