Israel Embassy appeals to Ukrainian authorities
According to UNIAN news agency, Embassy of Israel in Ukraine calls on the Ukrainian authorities to find and prosecute those responsible for recent attacks on members of the Jewish community in Kiev, reports the press service of the Embassy.
"We urge the Ukrainian authorities to thoroughly investigate, to find those responsible and bring them to justice,” reads the statement.
The Embassy is concerned about anti-Semitism and violent attacks on members of the Jewish community in Kiev.
The Embassy noted that Israel appreciates the government of Ukraine in its fight against anti-Semitism and hopes that the government strongly condemns such actions and will help to prevent their happening in the future.
On the evening of January 17, yeshiva student Dov Glickman was seriously wounded near the synagogue. Unknown attacked the student on the way home from the synagogue, beating him severely.
On January 10, yeshiva teacher Hillel Wertheimer from the same synagogue was beaten by unknown in the masks.
