Gold and currency reserves of Ukraine went up by 8.5 percent

In December gold and currency reserves of the National Bank increased by 8.5 percent or by $1,603.77 million, amounting to $20.4 billion as of December 31.

According to the information of the National Bank, as of December 31 the foreign currency reserves amounted to $18,759.52 million, reserve position in the IMF — $0.03 million, special drawing rights — $16.00 million, gold — $1,640.15 million.

Since the beginning of 2013 (in January-December) gold and currency reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine decreased by 16.8 percent or by $4,130.49 million from $24,546.19 to $20,415.7 million.

According to precise data of the National Bank of Ukraine, as of the end of November gold and currency reserves amounted to $18,811.93 million.
