One of Zaporizhia NPP generators is unplugged

Power generator No. 5 of Zaporizhia NPP has been unplugged, reports the web site of the nuclear power plant.

Thus, according to the report, the unit was turned off at 2 pm due to leaks in the cooling system of the generator. There are no violations of operating limits or safety standards; radiation situation is stable and normal.

Currently four generators operate at Zaporizhia NPP, with total load of 3,760 MW.

In fall 2013, power generator No. 2 has been turned off for planned interim repairs. Until the end of March this year, several scheduled maintenance cycles are in line for generator No. 5.
