The price of gas will be decreased in Ukraine
On December 30 the Government of Ukraine adopted a decree regarding lowering the price for natural gas.
The decree was adopted in connection with 30% price reduction to the level $268.5 per 1,000 cubic meters for the gas imported from Russia.
Since January 1, 2014 the extreme gas price for industrial consumers will be decreased by 10% to 3,113 UAH per 1,000 cubic meters and for governmental institutions by 29 % to 2,448 UAH per 1,000 cubic meters.
Taking into consideration the changed prices, the government recommended the National Commission, which carries out the state regulation in the sphere of public services, to review its tariffs for thermal energy for institutions and organizations, which are funded from the state budget and from the local budgets.
The central and local executive authorities will have to secure the control for price reduction of the corresponding payable services, which are provided for the population by the organizations, in connection with the reduction of price for the natural gas and the thermal energy.
Let us remind that on December 17 in Moscow during the meeting of Viktor Yanukovych and Vladimir Putin an agreement on the reduction of the price for gas for Ukraine by one third was reached.
