Children’s hospice opens in Transcarpathia
A children's hospice has been opened in the city of Nadvirna, Ivano-Frankivsk region, says the press office of the local state administration.
The hospice runs in several rooms of the local orphanage, which have been converted for the occasion. The hospice can hold simultaneously up to 15 children with the final stages of cancer or other serious diseases. If needed, the children may stay with their parents.
The pediatric palliative care unit was created using charitable funds, while the premises were renovated at the expense of the local budget.
Previously this format of palliative care has not been offered to Ukrainian kids, noted Xenia Shapoval, representative of the Vidrodzhennya charity fund.
