Edward Snowden has found a job in Russia
The lawyer of the former CIA employee Edward Snowden Anatoly Kucherena has reported that his client will be taking care of "maintenance if a major Russian website" starting with November 1.
The experts have forecasted no difficulties for Snowden with finding employment in Russia. In particular, the head of the press-service of HeadHunter Ivan Tiutiujin said that the experts in information technologies of Snowden's level are in great demand, especially with excellent knowledge of English.
For security reasons Snowden's place of employment as well as place of residence is not disclosed. Mail.Ru Group and Yandex have not been negotiating with Snowden about employment. A representative of Vkontakte social network refused to comment on the possibility of employment of the former CIA employee.
It will be recalled that in the beginning of June 2013 Snowden supplied the newspapers The Guardian and The Washington Post with classified information about total worldwide surveillance of the digital communications between the citizens of many countries by the US intelligence service. For his disclosure on June 14, 2013 Snowden was in absentia charged with espionage and theft of government property with criminal purpose and announced internationally wanted person by the American government. However, Snowden managed to escape, first to Hong Kong, and then to Russia, where on August 1 he received asylum for the term of 1 year. A firm position of the president of Russia Vladimir Putin and his refusal to extradite Snowden was one of the reasons of Forbes magazine naming Putin as the most influential person in the world and putting the president of the USA Barack Obama to the second place.
