Tomorrow the ceremony of consecration of Russian Navy Ensigns of all the fleets of Russia will take place in Sevastopol.
The Russian Navy Ensigns of the Black Sea, the Pacific, the Baltic, Northern fleets, and Caspian flotilla of the Russian Federation will be consecrated simultaneously in the main cathedrals of Sevastopol.
"The event will start at 8:00 a.m. in Vladimir Cathedral of Chersonesos and then at 11:00 a.m. the flags will be delivered to Vladimir Cathedral at the central town hill. After the end of the liturgy the procession will bring the flags to the Earl Wharf. Anybody who wishes may be present," the press service of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation informed.
The tradition of consecration of the flags on the Black Sea fleet was initiated in 1997, in connection with raising of the Russian Navy Ensigns on ships after the status of the Russian fleet was determined, and is observed every year.
