A free artist from Moscow has nailed his genitals to the Red Square
An artist Petr Pavlensky stripped naked and nailed his own scrotum to block pavement of the Red Square. An artist from St. Petersburg timed his act to the Day of the employees of the authorities of internal affairs, which was celebrated in Russia on Sunday. Pavlensky said that his act symbolized "the apathy, political indifference and fatalism of the modern Russian society".
The police separated the artist form the block pavement and sent him to a hospital.
Pavlensky is known for his act performed in protection of Pussy Riot, which he did in the summer of 2012, when he sewed his mouth together. In May of 2013 at police request Pavlensky passed medical examination, which found him sane, after his act Carcass, during which a naked artist had wound barbed wire around himself near the building of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg.
